Startup

About the Startup Stage

The startup stage is a mandatory stage that is required for all MOCs and must be completed by the MOC’s implementation manager. Once all critical implementation requirements and action items are complete, the implementation manager conducts a final review of the MOC before giving permission to start up the change. The Startup task is assigned to the implementation manager marked with a green check or red x, indicating if the critical action items are complete or not. The implementation manager ensures all comments throughout the MOC are satisfactorily addressed, all necessary training is complete and remaining non-critical implementation requirements and action items are inconsequential before approve the change for startup.

Below are the guidelines for the Startup Stage

  • The implementation manager is the only person that can approve the startup of an MOC.
  • An MOC startup cannot be approved unless all critical implementation requirements and critical action items are complete.
  • As soon as the critical implementation requirements are complete, the Startup task displays on the implementation manager's Frontline desktop in the MOC tab. A green check in front of the Startup task indicates all critical action items are complete. A red x in front of the Startup task indicates there are still one or more incomplete critical action items that can be reviewed by selecting the Approve Startup button.
  • An instant e-mail notification is sent to all role players when the implementation manager approves startup.
  • If the implementation manager can void the MOC and the MOC will be automatically moved to the MOC > Voided folder. All role players will receive an e-mail notification if the MOC has been voided.
